Our kids deserve better. I'll deliver it.
I know CPS as a student, parent, mentor, teacher, and advocate. I served on two Local School Councils and the Parent Leadership Council, and I now lead the Family Advisory Board for Students with Disabilities. As a Northwestern research director and scientist, I drive discovery, inspire students, manage budgets, and do more with less.
I grew up on Chicago's South Side, attended CPS schools, and knew poverty and housing insecurity firsthand. That hardship is why I fight for the families CPS too often leaves behind. I have taught students from middle school to medical school, including CPS students in science and algebra, and as the parent of a CPS student with a disability, I know how hard it can be to get the services a child needs. As president of the Family Advisory Board, I led a parent survey to hear directly from families about what they need most.
Every child. Every school. Every dollar.
Every child has the potential to change the world. Every school has the obligation to give them the foundation for a bright future. Every dollar must be spent in service of that mission.

Universal screening for disabilities by age 5.
Every child should be screened for disabilities by age 5 so they get the supports and accommodations they need to succeed. For decades, CPS has missed too many children until they were far behind.

Every child reading by 3rd grade.
Reading unlocks everything else. I will fight for clear early reading standards and fast help for any child who falls behind. First goal: double the number of second graders reading at grade level.

Gifted & arts programs in every school.
A lottery at age 4 shouldn't decide a child's future. CPS should more than double gifted and accelerated opportunities and stop holding gifted children back. Arts, which build confidence and make school exciting, belong in every school.

Career pathways with credentials, including trades.
College isn't the only path to a good life. Every high school should offer career programs tied to real credentials, and the trades deserve to be promoted as a first-rate choice.

Support for English Language Learners.
Students new to English shouldn't fall behind. Resources should be targeted so they become proficient within four years.

Budget control for principals & LSCs.
Principals and parents know their schools best. They should have real authority over school budgets.

More funding for early education.
Early education delivers one of the highest returns on investment of anything we do for children. CPS should invest more, with quality child care in every neighborhood.

Evidence-based curriculum in every classroom.
Schools should publish what they teach and use only materials proven to work. Phones should stay out of the school day, early-grade screens should be limited, and student data kept out of AI systems.

Social-emotional support for every student.
Kids learn best when they feel safe, and that doesn't take massive hiring. Better training, confidential reporting, and letting schools direct support where it's needed can get us there.

Fair, consistent school discipline.
Every student deserves fair treatment. CPS should confront disparities in discipline so students stay in class and learning.

Fund schools, not central office.
More of every dollar must reach the classroom. I will fight to give schools more budget control, the best way to cut central office waste.

Lower deficits with honest, open budgets.
CPS's deficits come from failed leadership, not just structure. I will demand open budgets families can actually read and a long-term plan to end them.

Real accountability for how money is spent.
Every dollar should be tracked and reported publicly. CPS has closed schools badly before. I will push for communities to decide their schools' future, with any savings staying in their neighborhoods.

Put every building to work for the community.
Vacant buildings help no one. Working with the city, they can become business incubators, recreational facilities, and affordable housing, and underused schools can add health clinics and career centers.
